The Vulnerable Place

Ahhhh, love! I love love. I was in relationships most of my young(er) life. After my previous relationship ended in my mid-20s, I decided I was going to be single and enjoy being so. Coincidentally, I moved to New York around that same time and met my roommate who was also single, bilingual and ready to mingle. The stage was set.

After about three years of living it up as a single girl in the Big Apple, I was starting to love it and couldn’t see how anyone would make me abandon it. Then, I met a comedian – a stand-up – and I ran all out of reasons to stay single.

To my funny man.

The Vulnerable Place
by The Lady & The Lyrics

Oh me! Oh my!
This is such a vulnerable place
I didn’t want to come here
I haven’t been here in at least five thousand days

Now I’m on this dreadful stage
Cast as the lead in your Shakespearean play
Now I love you as star crossed lovers do, yes I do
Now all my thoughts are thoughts of you
And all of me belongs to you

Oh man, oh man I was so fine
In the streets speaking badly of the loves I'd left behind
Smoking cigarettes outside bar doors
Bring on the whiskey, pour on some more!

Now I’m at the fearful edge
Where far from you my heart can’t stray
Now I love you as star crossed lovers do, yes I do
Now all my thoughts are thoughts of you
And all of me loves all of you
